After a thrilling comeback tie against the host Mitchell Meteors, the Peeww AE Jets went on to win the 56th annual Mitchell tournament.
The Jets won their pool with wins over Listowel and Oakville before disposing of Lambton Shores 4-0 in the semi-finals. This set up a rematch with Mitchell in the final on Sunday afternoon. In a tight defensive battle, the Jets emerged with a 3-1 victory.
Strong defensive play proved to be the difference for the Jets. The team allowed only 4 goals against in its final 4 games on the way to the championship.
Well done Jets and congratulations on a fine tournament Peewee AE coaching staff.
